Stayed here with my wife and adult daughter and two dogs having searched for places with hot tub taking two dogs! Arrived to bread baking in the kitchen and log stove ready if needed. Spent first night eating in the Inn and was a quiz night and our team of three became a team of thirteen in the bar with the locals and we won! Cracking welcome from the staff and locals and great laugh. The rest of the week was in the hills with the dogs and mountain biking and returning to a hot tub - who cares about the rain! Idea of cooking went out of the window with good pub group and a welcome in the inn why make it hard - it was a holiday? Dogs were welcome in the pub, and most of all the cottage did not smell of dogs as in previous places we have stayed. Beds and linen great - you do not need to take anything as its all there - even Wifi to keep the kids happy on FB! Bedrooms were warm, log stove was easy to get to grips with. Overall a perfect break in a great location, make the most of the area and make the most of the tub and cottage on your return

The hot tub was just fabulous, along with the stunning views. The log burner provided caveman TV in the evenings! Just splendid to chill and absorb the many features of The Old Chapel. The local pub, Stiperstones Inn, we liked and its regular customers are very friendly. We highly recommend eating here as the food was very good and excellent value. We enjoyed exploring the surrounding walks the breath taking views. We especially loved the mountain biking at Eastridge Woods. The downhills are awesome. And finally the reward of quality beer served at the Stiperstones Inn.

Unless you have a book - a very big book - of superlatives - and I don't! - then this review absolutely won't do justice to this exceptional holiday let. It not only does exactly what it 'says on the tin' - but so, so much more. Four of us stayed at The Old Chapel for 4 days and nights in November. Whilst it is in our home county, it is, without a doubt, the most relaxing place we have ever stayed in anywhere in this world. All plans to walk, read books, do craft work etc fell by the wayside from the time of our arrival. I fear we were too idle even to take any pictures of the Old Chapel - such was our level of relaxation. Set in beautiful countryside, with lovely views - this was quiet and calm at its very best and we so loved that. Even the first frosts of the year were so beautiful to see. The whole property is beautifully furnished and equipped. There is nothing we needed that hadn't been provided - even down to a complete range of spices! I have never seen so many drinking glasses styles provided for every possible type of drink! Then the hot tub and the log burner - hence the girls saying 'I've gone to heaven'. Having planned meal menus and taken along foods to cook - it won't come as any surprise that, being so relaxed - we were beckoned and then seduced [several times] by the local pub - The Stiperstones Inn - for meals and drinks. A very friendly, community orientated, pub providing real ale and a menu range to suit all tastes and pockets. Really great hosts here in Phil and Lara - who's prime motivation is making your visit enjoyable and what you want it to be - and not their convenience and profit. We had beautifully cooked meals and so enjoyed them. The Sunday roast was quite exceptional. I can't speak too highly of this holiday let folks - many such reviews say something like - we'll be back. We went one better and booked the same weekend in 2015 after being there for less than a day such was our delight in this property and the almost magical relaxing effect it has. So don't pass this by folks - it's more than a gem. We made no where near the use we could have of the offerings of the property or the surrounding countryside - but came home rested, recharged and read to do December!

The Old Chapel is a beautiful and tastefully decorated building and the view is delightful, especially from the hot tub! Phil and Lara were very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed, including a fresh loaf of bread baking for us in the kitchen on arrival. The amenities are excellent and everything is kept to a high standard. We had a great week, and having the Stiperstones Inn on the doorstep a few minutes walk away meant that we didn't always have to cook for ourselves! Excellent food and booze in the pub. I would definitely return again and would also recommend the chapel to others. A great properly run by lovely people. Hope to see you again!

Amazing place to stay in the beautiful Shropshire Hills . Everything was perfect with the added bonus of the wonderful hot tub. Good food friendly staff/locals at the nearby Stiperstones Inn.

Liked everything, the location and welcome was exactly as promised. The hot tub was more than welcome after a day on the hill, it was the perfect getaway from urban life without travelling miles and miles - its only 12 miles away from Shrewsbury. Had everything for either an outdoors week or a relaxing week, whichever you want. Be prepared for any plans to go out of the window once you arrive due to options available to you.

Mr Price

The Old Chapel is a great place - wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. We'll be back.

We had a fabulous week at The Old Chapel during February half term, which was very reasonably priced for a week during school holidays. We stayed here with my parents (for Mum's 60th) and we had various guests visiting us during our stay and they loved it too. Our dog George loved his stay too and came home happy and tired. The chapel was clean, tidy and kitchen was well stocked with all the bits and pieces you could need (and more!). The chapel felt very light and airy but warm and cosy at the same time, the beds were so comfy that I slept like a log every night. Wifi was good and a decent speed compared to other properties we've stayed at. Chapel is really well located for walking, there are numerous walks you can do (leaflets and maps in chapel with all the details). The hot tub was one of our favourite additions to the chapel, we used it everyday after our walks, it was the perfect way to relax. The Stiperstones Inn down the road was our second home for the week, we ate here everyday. Great pub grub at fab prices and friendly staff and customers that made us feel very welcome. Phil and Lara were on hand to sort out any problems we had and give us advise on places to go and see, truly lovely helpful owners (pub and chapel). Nextdoor to the pub is one of the best shops I have every been into! My dad went in every morning for the paper and we used it each day for bits and pieces, the shop sells everything you could possibly want and more, at great prices......seeing is believing!!!!! Everything about our stay was perfect, so much so we booked up with the owners for next year before we left! Can't wait to return Happy

Samantha Sampson

Lovely place to stay, had everything, hot tub was the particular favourite!

Garry Edgar

Place was fantastic, very relaxing, staff at pub were friendly and food was incredible!

Susan Friendship

The cottage was very well equipped and we liked the hot tub.
We enjoyed the quirkiness of being in an old Chapel.
The photos don't do it justice.
The welcome pack of a bottle of wine and a fresh loaf of bread and some butter was very thoughtful.
The neighbours were friendly.
The towels and bedding were immaculate.
The woodburner was awesome.
We have one at home but not on this scale.
The village shop would put many supermarkets to shame.
What an alladdins cave! We only hope we put everything back in its correct place.

This ranks as one of the best cottages that we have stayed in!

The Old Chapel was an amazing place to stay but it was the finishing touches from the owners Phil and Lara that made it all special from the bottle of wine, tea, coffee, butter, bread cooking in bread maker on arrival to giving one of the party a lift back from the pub at the end of the night as she had broken her leg just prior to the holiday - fantastic place and fantastic people - A***.

Jim Fairbairn

The Chapel was in a brilliant location for walking with our dogs. The village and people were friendly and we were made very welcome. The pub served excellent food and was, as described, a short walk away. The hot tub was used everyday and was a joy after the long walks. The owners were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We would happily visit again and recommend to friends.

Pamela Mutch

The warm welcome from the 'locals': we had to go in the pub to collect key, and were offered friendship and advice from everyone in the bar, who greeted us like friends for the rest of our stay!.

Samantha O'Rourke

Fab accommodation, very well equipped with fresh bread on arrival.
Definitely coming back!

Andrew Parsons

Location was good for visiting attractions & close to the local pub for meals, which were very good value.

Grandchildren loved the hot tub.

Very comfortable, well furnished & equipped property with comfy beds.
Welcome booklet was very well put together with everything explained & handy information on places to visit & local walks.

Lovely touches with a loaf of bread baking on arrival & a bottle of wine.
Lots of board games for children to play & a selection of DVD's to watch.
Garden & views were lovely.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week.

The cottage was one of the best stocked properties I have ever been in for a holiday.
The standard of facilities and decoration were second to none.
It seems that the owners have thought of everything including childrens dinnerware.
The activities cupboard on the mezzanine floor was a treasure trove of different things to keep my 5 year old entertained.

The cottage is perfectly positioned to take advantage of the surrounding countryside.

Hazel Rampley

The location was perfect, the property was perfect especially the hot tub.
The owners and locals were very friendly.

Amanda Kinnard

An exceptional accommodation.
Extremely well equipped and very clean.

Mina Nissiri

Everything was perfect.

From the moment we saw the cottage we fell in love with that. Perfect place in a perfect location in height with an amazing panoramic view which makes you to die for a walk.

There was a beautiful pub, a small grocery shop and a spring near by.
Phil and Lara made a beautiful rental holiday cottage. They carefully thought about all the comfort that a family needs in holiday.
Hot tub was above all.

There are plenty things must to do in Shropshire, which are wonderful for a family day out such as: Victorian Town model, iron bridge, Shrewsbury castle and many. We absolutely enjoyed our stay in the Old Chapel Cottage and recommend that to everyone who needs peaceful or adventurous holiday.

Caroline Nicholson

Beautiful location close to good walking.
Well equipped and we enjoyed the Hot Tub.
Very helpful friendly owners.

Harry Mason

We really enjoyed our stay at the old chapel it was a nice quite break.
The weather was a bit to be desired but we made up for that by sitting in the hot tub and in front of the log burner at night.
Phil and Lara were good hosts and the meals at the Stiperstones Inn were excellent.

Negative Comments

We could not have stayed for 2 weeks! No their was nothing not to like about the holiday other than the local pub ran out off spare ribs on my last day but that could have been due to me having them for 4 nights out of 6 Happy.
